2022 SAF Applications Now Available

Dear Friends of Artspace 304,

It’s with great pleasure that the board and staff announce that the 2022 Southern Arts Fund (SAF) applications are now available. These grants provide vital, financial support to artists and non-profit arts organizations throughout the Southern Illinois region, provide a wide array of public art and entertainment, and ensure that the arts thrive for all who seek them.

This year, SAF grants are underwritten by the Illinois Arts Council Agency, National Endowment for the Arts, City of Carbondale, Artspace 304, and a private foundation. We have over $80,000 in various grants (including SAF) to distribute. We are thrilled that $30,000 has been earmarked for arts programming outside of Jackson and Williamson counties by a donor. Last year, Artspace 304 (formerly Carbondale Community Arts) distributed more than $60,000 in grants to regional art organizations and artists.

Grant amounts range between $2000 and $3000. The Artists Council will review the applications and make recommendations for grants to the Artspace 304 board of directors. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis through April 30. The first round of grant reviews will take place in late March. Applications may be accessed HERE.
