“Bitter Sweet Home” by Lauren Pinson addresses the expectations of perfection both internal and external in regards to tasks within the home. The constant fear of judgment is what drives these tasks to be performed perfectly and efficiently. Objects are placed into vignettes that are reminiscent of still lives and have modifications and gesture as if they are coming alive and impeding on our space.
