Over the past 25 years we have provided special arts grants to numerous artists and organizations. Everything Under the Solar Eclipse

Artspace 304 invites you to make and submit art for an exhibition at The Corridor Gallery located at the Carbondale Civic Center. “Everything Under the Solar Eclipse” will celebrate the upcoming 2024 Solar Eclipse. Artists are invited to submit two-dimensional art inspired by the eclipse, the cosmos and everything related to the astrological event coming soon to Carbondale..

“Everything Under the Solar Eclipse” will be on view at The Corridor Gallery this March and April. 

ELIGIBILITY – Open call to all artists of all ages in the Southern Illinois region

 SUBMISSIONS – Submissions are limited to one work per person. Only two-dimensional pieces in any medium can be submitted. Three-dimensional works will not be accepted. Artwork must be framed by the artist and ready to hang. Pieces should not be larger than 24” in any direction. Heavy framed pieces will not be able to be exhibited. The Corridor Gallery uses a picture frame hanging system to display art. All pieces must have a way to tie on monofilament or wire to string up to hang, with either d-rings or sawtooth hangers. 

 HOW TO SUBMIT ARTWORK – Applications can be submitted electronically through this online form by the deadline of Thursday, February 22 at midnight. There is a $10 application fee for this exhibition. All artwork that is submitted must be original to the artist applying and must not have been shown within the last three years at Artspace 304. Artspace 304 reserves the right to make all selections to be included in the show. In the event that dropped off work is unable to be displayed, Artspace 304 staff will contact the artist to arrange pick up.

Email notifications of acceptance will be sent by Monday, February 26 at 5pm. The dates to drop off artwork is from February 28 through March 2 at Artspace 304 (304 W Walnut St, Carbondale, IL 62901), during our regular business hours (Wednesday-Saturday: 12pm-5pm).

    Applications for SAF 2023 are now closed. Stay tuned for next years SAF in early Spring 2024.

    SAF provides financial assistance in the form of grants to artists and organizations whose projects and practice are public in nature.

    Eligible applicants for SAF funding opportunities include public, private, and nonprofit organizations, as well as individual artists located in Southern Illinois.
